Viewing a customer's payment and transaction history

Transaction History

The transaction history shows all payments and transactions for a customer. This guide explains how to view and understand customer transaction history.

Accessing Transaction History

  1. Navigate to the customer detail view
  2. Click the Transactions tab
  3. View all transactions for this customer
Transaction history

Understanding the Transaction List

Each transaction shows:

Payment IDUnique payment identifier
DateWhen the transaction occurred

MerchantWhich merchant received the payment

Filtering Transactions

By Status

  1. Click the Status filter
  2. Select one or more statuses
  3. Click Apply

By Date Range

  1. Click the Date filter
  2. Select a date range
  3. Click Apply

By Merchant

If viewing a customer user (across merchants):

  1. Click the Merchant filter
  2. Select a merchant
  3. Click Apply

Viewing by Merchant vs. Globally

Per-Merchant View

When viewing a Customer (specific merchant relationship):

  • Only shows transactions with that merchant
  • Context is limited to one business relationship

Global View

When viewing a Customer User (underlying user):

  • Shows transactions across all merchants
  • Filter by merchant to narrow down
  • See the complete customer history

Transaction Details

Click on any transaction to view full details:

  • Complete payment information
  • Blockchain transaction details
  • Settlement status
  • Event history

This opens the same Payment Details view used in the Payments section.

Common Tasks

Finding a Specific Transaction

  1. Open the customer's transaction history
  2. Use filters to narrow down by date or status
  3. Click on the transaction to view details

Checking for Failed Payments

  1. Open transaction history
  2. Filter by Status = "Failed"
  3. Review failed transactions and reasons

Calculating Total Volume

The transaction history may show:

  • Total transaction count
  • Total payment volume
  • Average transaction value

If not displayed, export the data for analysis.

Exporting History

To export a customer's transaction history:

  1. View the transactions tab
  2. Apply any desired filters
  3. Click Export (if available)
  4. Download the file

Best Practices

Customer Support

When helping a customer:

  1. Review their recent transactions
  2. Identify the specific transaction in question
  3. Check the transaction status and history
  4. Provide accurate information about timing and status

Investigation

When investigating customer activity:

  1. Look at the full transaction history
  2. Identify any unusual patterns
  3. Cross-reference with other data sources if needed
  4. Document your findings
